February
18, 2004 - Golden, Colorado - Congressmen Tour the Department
of Energy's National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL)
Unofficially, these four U.S. Congressmen had to be "pulled away" from the
Coolerado demonstration cooler, which is sitting on the table behind
them. The prototype Coolerado Cooler, which NREL tested, is in the
foreground of the photograph. The official, approved caption is as
follows:
"U.S. Congressmen Zach Wamp (R-TN),
Mike Doyle (D-PA), Mark Udall (D-CO) and Bob Beauprez (R-CO) get a
first-hand look at a Coolerado Cooler
display unit at NREL's Thermal Test Facility. Also pictured are Center
for
Buildings and Thermal Systems Director Ron Judkoff and Midwest Research
Institute President Jim Spigarelli."

Individually, and as a group, these members of
congress have much influence over how the United States government
approaches energy and the environment. Some of the committees they
influence include the Appropriations Committee, Energy and Water
Subcommittee, Energy and Commerce Committee and the Renewable Energy and
Energy Efficiency Caucus.
